American Endymion
Madness doesn't protect
against consequence.
Denial of all
personal drama
diminishes significance
of experience
to somniloquy.
To appreciate simplicity without fetishizing it,
get up in the dark sometimes
and go to bed while it's still light.
For a quorum of sanity, Vegas precarious,
avoid what is neither accurate nor interesting
nor in any other way pleasing.
Reconcile to integrate.
It's a misfortune
to become hooked on other people's dreams.
Dilettantes and fad-followers,
don't threaten me with your dirty little heaven
of mundane anguish,
righteous apathy,
unscrupulous scrapping,
stop-gap celebritism,
social contusions
and mnemonic artifacts.
I wait for plausible miracles.
Episodes of interaction.
Ties without cause.
Don't be obvious. Don't be obscure.
