Admonishing the Angel
Why would I wrestle with the angel?
That is not an attractive tussle.
I will decline to engage
and rely on their innate generosity,
as I have so oft done.
I have designated other struggles
higher priority—go,
and leave me be.
You are an unwanted,
unwarranted distraction!
I don't covet what you guard, Guardian!
I barely acknowledge it.
Go where you are needed,
or at least heeded.
