A Small Place

Here, in the center
of all this disappointment,
I have kept a small place
in which to live.
It is too small.
Now, because I had to fit
inside, I am too small.
I once was as big
as the world!
I once thought the world bigger
than any amount of disappointment.
I was wrong,
and that miscalculation
is very disappointing.
