2I went over to V's house. He was putting up two "Rock 'n' Wrestling" posters on the wall of his room (not real). We had plans to go somewhere, so we went and got into his car and left, getting up on the interstate. We had driven for just a very short time, when, suddenly, all of the traffic noises stopped and cars began to slow down. V informed me that we had lost power. I urged him to try and make it as far as possible before stopping. We had just made it off of a particular bridge, when all of the cars behind us disappeared, and a sign lit up somewhere, "demolished." We got out and walked over to an alien ship/outpost nearby. An external sign said to line up, and there were already about 15-20 people in line. Eager to see what would happen next, but well aware of the danger, we mounted some steps and entered what appeared to be the passengers' section of the vehicle. I warned V to keep his wits about him, and we took great pains to stay together. Inside, the seats were arranged three to a row. We found an empty row and sat, leaving an empty seat between us as no more people were boarding. We were quite near the front, and the rest of the section was quite full. When we had boarded, we had been handed a folded over strip of a paper/plastic material. Upon inspection, it turned out to be our evaluation. On the inside was a line graph with two things graphed: our potential if reestablished on Earth and our potential if relocated elsewhere. Both of our ratings were almost identical on the first, somewhat above the mean. On the second, both of our ratings were fantastically high, and mine went almost off the graph. (G) |
