Dreaming; Night of
June 16, 1985

8:10              1Stuff before. Then, I was dreaming about this girl. Suddenly I became aware that I was dreaming. Then I became aware that I was aware that I was dreaming! LaBerge's lucidity! I jumped up in the air to perform his test of gravity, and, sure enough, I floated easily down. Else happened, other tests and attempts to retain the failing cohesion of the dream reality. Then I woke up. (A-)
2Into this dream. I went to a car and got my DN to record the above. As I looked through it to find my place, an error in the dating of entries (the last was not around June 16) cued me into realizing that I had had a false awakening and was, in fact, still dreaming. I attempted to read some of the entries. I was able to do so much more easily than in the past, although, upon looking away, the words still shifted and moved. Then, perhaps cued by the movement of my eyes while reading, I remembered that one could communicate to the outside by moving one's dream eyes. I began to exaggerate the left-right movement of my eyes. I could feel myself start to awaken, but I kept moving my eyes until after I had awoken. (A-)
3Into this dream. I don't remember much about this one, except that I did quickly become "lucid." (A-)
