I was in a rather odd prison facility, held for a crime I didn't commit. A bit else before involving a library, a football/motorcycle helmet, and a kiss from an oriental girl. I rounded up some accomplices in the prison, V among them, and made some plans, and then an attempt, to escape with them. We managed to get a car, which we were using for its phone, to call for help. Over my loud protests, one of my companions was overcome with the temptation and drove out of the camp, making a break for freedom. Our chances, as I saw them, were very poor. Out on the dusty country roads, we met up with M, who helped us. It was no good, though, and we were recaptured by the camp "commandant." I had M, an outsider, lodge a protest. He then claimed that we weren't prisoners and that this wasn't even a prison facility. I ran back to the room where we'd been held and discovered that it had been completely remodelled and no longer looked like a holding room. I decided to do some detective work and figure out just what was going on. I started off with a companion toward the center of the little town that had so recently served as a prison. Very quickly, we came to an area where some construction was being done. I saw a large crane, with two men high up on its arm. They started fighting, and one fell. I turned and began walking away, not wanting to see the fellow hit the concrete, and my companion followed suit. We found a car and drove around a block. Our route, much to our discomfort, took us over the spot where the guy had fallen, but, fortunately, we didn't see him. A bit else. Then I was parking the car with M at an outer portion of the town-complex. We got out and walked over to a fenced area in which were what seemed to be the swimming pools for the whole town, one next to another with thin (2-3 ft. wide) concrete walks between them. No sooner had we entered this area than another car pulled up. A man and a dark-haired woman got out. I first assumed them to be tourists of some sort, for such was their garb, but then realized that the woman was a well-known agent of the bad guysin disguiseand that the man must be her accomplice. I had walked out some distance into the pool zone, while M was still back just inside the gate. I started hurrying back to join her, but they got to her first, and before I could reach her, the woman used her magic powers to make her vanish. I then used my own power to move myself into the alternate dimension to which she had been sent. We moved down a long hallway which was filled with people. It seemed that this dimension was one of the magic-users in competition. Everyone chose sides, good or evil, and it seemed that we had landed in a hotbed of the evil practitioners. We began moving quickly down the hallway, insinuating, at least, to the others that we, too, were of the evil persuasion, using this as a cover to see us safely out of there. We began running into other good guys who were isolated and having a tough time of itI remember SM, specifically, whom I'd seen briefly earlier in the dreamand gathered them together so that we'd have a stronger force. A bit else. Then M and I got sidetracked into a post office, where the man gave me some mail. It included a letter from E, which was wrapped in plastic in a way to look just like one I have, and a package from some unknown aunt. I opened it and discovered that it contained small clay figures. M admitted that they were from her. We began to carefully package them up again. (G) |
