3I entered into a field that was separated from some woods by a dirt road. V was there and we were running. I almost stepped on a snake but managed to avoid it at the last minute. It was long and red and black in color. At first it appeared to be oddly segmented. I decided that it must be a king snake (which I took to be poisonous in the dream). I cried out a warning to V, who was right behind me, but he tripped and fell almost on top of the snake. It bit him. He tried to get away, but it was incredibly fast and bit him again. He kept trying to move and getting bitten. I told him to freeze while I went to find a stick to deal with the snake with. At first, he wouldn't listen, but he finally quit movingby choice or as a result of the venom's taking effect, I don't know. A bit else. Then I was back in the area near the snake. I was careless and only escaped its fangs by jumping high into the air. As soon as I made this leap, I became aware, remembering last night's flight and wanting to improve upon it. I took off, again straight up into the air. I increased my speed, deciding to try and get as high as I could, perhaps breaking free of the atmosphere itself. As I moved through the clouds, which were still white but wispier than those of last night, I remembered what I'd read during the day in the Omni questionnaire about in-flight manuevers, so I leaned back until I was flying at about a 120-degree angle. As soon as I did this, everything was obscured by an intense white light. I struggled to bring back the visual images and, for a second, succeeded. Then I lost them again and then awoke. (H)(A) |
