Dreaming; Night of March 13, 1987 |

1Else before. Then part with mice and a home that I'd built for them. Then I went to a cafeteria-type place and started ordering food (tacos, etc.). A guy was there (I think he'd come with me). I became aware and told him so. I looked out at "the back of my eyelids" and tried to see a light, remembering V's recent description of LaBerge's new technique. I wanted to write down my dream, so the guy tried to help me find a pen. We couldn't find one; we even considered writing on his shirt. A bit else. (H) |

2I started an escape from a seemingly escape-proof old facility in what looked like Germany. I had a group of people, and we were all breaking away from the bad guys. I seduced a woman who was in the sort of "SS" that ran the place, but she betrayed me. The actual escape was interesting, involving all sorts of climbing, running, and scrambling. Once we escaped from the actual facility, we had to get to a forest about two miles or so away. First, we had to climb down a rocky cliff to the highway below. It was raining, and our group had broken down into units of two or three, determined by their speed. I was in front, with another guy. He was a native of the area and showed me how to get down the cliff quickly. He wanted to wait at the bottom for the others, but I "remembered" that the "last time" (sense of dream deja vu) we'd waited there and been shot down from above. I pulled him on, saying that they'd see us and follow. We found a schoolbus and commandeered it. I drove at breakneck speed toward the forest, through the narrow streets of a small village which had turned to mud in the rain. It was night (suddenly), and my companion was now female. We got to the end of the line, a tall fence marking some sort of facility. I stopped the bus right against the fence, and we got out and ran through a gate. At this point, I was suddenly alone. I passed a four-wheel drive vehicle and, hoping the keys would be in it but knowing they wouldn't, looked inside. They weren't. I moved quickly on, into a complex of greenhouse/warehouse structures, trying to work my way through the maze to get to an exit at the other side, from which the forest was separated by only a short meadow. It was now daytime again. I entered a room, more of a hall, and saw a strange white bird that looked like a cockatoo with a strange curved beak. It looked at me sleepily and didn't seem a threat, so I moved past it. Then I saw a tiny monkey (about 2 1/2-3 inches long) scampering about on the concrete floor. I considered picking it up but decided I didn't have the time and moved on. I met up with my former companion (male) from whom I'd been separated, and we kept moving toward the exit. Suddenly, a voice from somewhere behind us identified himself as someone who worked there. He said he knew who I was (I was something of a folk hero), but that he couldn't be a party to my escape and that he wanted me off his property. Stupidly, I responded by calling out that I was getting off his property just as soon as I could, giving him the opportunity to get a fix on my position. We were in the second-to-last chamber with the exit in sight when he caught up with us. He was "SS," of course, on our trail. It was a standoff. Then, two of our group that had been behind us caught up and were captured by the bad guy (who, of course, had a gun). One of them was a young boy who'd lost his mother in the resistance/escape attempt. Knowing my nature, the officer told me to surrender or he'd shoot the boy and his companion. I became a voice in the head of my dream character, screaming not to surrender, that we had to get away. I had no control over "my" acts, however, and "I" gave myself up. Then, however, I regained control of myself and attacked the officer, disarming and at least temporarily stunning him. I knew that others were close behind, so the four of us headed for the exit door. I picked up the fallen officer's gun, but saw that it had no trigger, being activated by contact plates set in its harmonica-shaped form and in the officer's gloves. Else before. (G) |
