2I was riding a three-wheeler to the store at night (it had a hi/low switch-type headlamp) through a neighborhood similar to but much better than the C's. A car came around a corner with a cute girl and a number of her younger siblings. We sort of joked at each other as we passed (hard to explain) and she pulled into a house just up the street, where she lived. I realized that she was a missed opportunity from my past and went back the next day to try and rectify the situation. I looked at some color photographs with me in them (amazing! they were perfectly clear, with the backgrounds fairly complex; they even showed my current hair cut). Thereupon, I went up and made a friendly move. She was most reluctant to be in my presence, although it was obvious that she yet cared greatly for me. It came out that the reason was that she was engaged. A narrator's voice took over, as the view panned along a train. He said words to the effect that I didn't give up there and was about to go into detail when I awoke. Else before. (H) |
