Dreaming; Night of

3:52 pm              1I was fighting with a small group of loyal humans against a large group of antagonistic aliens (in human form) and human traitors using phaser-type guns that made no sound or projected no beam and were harmless to humans, but when shot at an alien it turned part of him black (burned? diseased?), wounding him greviously. I got the (at the time) great idea that the aliens of Aliens and the aliens of another movie which probably doesn't really exist (though it certainly seemed to at the time ((I've forgotten the title, drat it))) were actually members of the same species. This seemed like a great strategic insight, but unfortunately it came just as we were going into battle, where there was a good chance that I would die and, of course, the idea would die along with me. I pulled over a friend of mine and my immediate superior in the chain of command and told them, thinking this way to increase the chances of the idea's survival. Then we went into battle. We were invading a lower-level area from a higher one through what I suppose must have been a stairwell. It was so full of people and aliens who looked like people, however, that it was hard to tell. Our attack was to push through this lounging host of flesh and I led this wave through the tunnel of bodies, fighting off a feeling of suffocation until I broke through to the lower level. I noticed that most of those I shot weren't responding, which meant that the aliens were hiding behind a crush of turncoat humans. A bit else, and then a shift. (G)
