Dreaming; Night of March 1, 1986 |

2Some before. Then, S at work got into some trouble with her employer (unreal situationnot Dr. B, etc.), who was leaving the area and wanted to kidnap her and make her go. I and two other guys I conscripted went to her rescue. At first the guy tried to bluff his way out of it, then he and I began to fight. My eyesight got worse and worse, until all I could see were very blurred images. During part of the fight, he was wearing a red latex devil's mask. Suddenly, I realized that he had slipped it off and moved away while I, due to my failing eyesight, remained focused on the mask and outer clothing he'd left behind. I peered around frantically, afraid that 1. he was getting away, or 2. he was getting into a position of advantage over me. Suddenly, my vision became perfect. It was night. He had S and was escaping up a flimsy rope-ladder, which went up and up and was attached to I know not what. I called to the other two guys to move in after him, and I began climbing myself. I was up to a good height when he began to do something to the ladder from above, causing it to spin and threaten to unravel and send us to our deaths. I lost all fear, however, as I looked up and saw a black sky full of millions of bright white stars. I began to rotate quickly, and I felt a cool breeze, partly altitudinal wind, partly due to the motion. That and the view produced together a feeling of near-ecstasy, and I yelled out (at least within my mind), "I'm alive" and was happy. Then, quickly, I awoke. (H) |
